Keichea
Shauntee-Wilson


Keichea is the Owner and Director of FDX Pure Sole. FDX Pure Sole, formerly known as Freedom: Danz Xpressionz, is a hip-hop flavored dance studio offering instruction in multiple forms of dance for students ages 18 months through adult.

Keichea is a dancer, choreographer, certified educational coach, certified secondary teacher, entrepreneur and business woman.  She began her dance training at the age of 3 at Toni’s School of Dance Arts and moved on to Lascu School of Ballet.  She has studied gymnastics at Tindal and Crowell Recreation Centers and had additional dance training at Interlochen Arts Camp and with Cass Tech’s dance workshop.

Keichea was a founding member of the Detroit-Windsor Dance Company (DWDC) and returned in 1994 for two additional years with DWDC.  She attended Walden University working toward her Doctorate degree in Education (ABD). She graduated from Marygrove College (May 2008), where she received her Masters of Education Degree, and Wayne State University (May 2000), where she received her Master’s in Business Administration.  She received her undergraduate degree in Business Management from Hampton University in May 1994.  At Hampton, Keichea was a member of the Terpsichorean Dance Company under the direction of Mrs. E. Nina Butts.  Keichea is also a graduate of Cass Technical High School.

Keichea is a proud member of the illustrious Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Southfield Alumnae Chapter. Keichea is also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the proud mother of 15 year old Spirit and 13 year old Keichean. Currently, Keichea is a Secondary teacher in the Farmington Public Schools District and will serve as the Summer School Middle School Principal for 2018.

Nikki is currently an office manager for a Beaumont Medical Group office at Beaumont Farmington Hills Thoracic Surgery and Mohs Surgery. Nikki has been in the healthcare field for over 20 years. Nikki holds two Associate of Arts from Wayne County Community College (1992) and Baker College (2011). Nikki has been a dance mom when her daughter started dancing at age 5, but became deeply involved when her daughter joined the competing/performing dance team of Freedom: Danz Xpressionz. Nikki later became a board member for Freedom: Danz Xpressionz (2007-2009). When Ms. Keichea decided to reopen the doors as FDX Pure Sole dance studio in 2016, Nikki became the Administrative Assistant. Nikki is also a current board member of the FDX Pure Soul Foundation holding the position as secretary.

Carmela
Adams

Carmela Adams, a native Detroiter, started training at Toni’s School of Dance at the age of 11. Her training includes ballet, tap, jazz, modern, African, hip hop, and Dunham Technique. She performed and choreographed for local artist and dance companies throughout the Detroit area: Body Rhythm Dance Theatre, Onyxx Dance Company, Freedom Danz Xpressionz, Passions Dance Company and Detroit-  Windsor Dance Company. She studied under the direction of Gina Ellis, Ray Mercer, Shashu Amenra, Deborah White-Hunt and Greg Curry. Carmela had the pleasure of performing in the 2006 Super Bowl pre- game show with Stevie Wonder, India Arie, Joss Stone and John Legend. Carmela is currently enrolled at Henry Ford College pursuing a degree in Physical Therapy.

Kyrah
Gradford

Kyrah A. Gradford, she began her training at F:DX (Freedom: Danz Xpressionz) and continued dancing there until the age of 10. She then performed at Southfield High school with the marching band, as a pomerette/dancer from 2011-2015. She began her college career at Marygrove College from 2015-2017 and now is furthering her education at Wayne State University, where she is majoring in Dance/Performing Arts studying under Meg Paul, where she has been awarded a talent scholarship. 

Kyrah has performed at the DIA Film Theatre, ACDA (American College Dance Association), Oakland Dance Festival & Detroit Dance City Festival. She is currently a second year member with the company ConteXture Dance Detroit under the direction of Tracy Halloran. She has had the pleasure to work and study under Jordeen Ivanov-Ericson, Tracy Halloran, Levi Marsman, Roger Jeffrey, and many more. She has also had the pleasure of taking classes from a few astounding dancers/choreographers, Sonya Tayeh & Anthony Burrell. Kyrah shares her gift by teaching kids at multiple studios, who want to grow up to perform.

Is currently a senior at Marygrove College Studying in Dance and Child Development. She also teaches at ChildTime Preschool. She first started dancing at the age of three with Freedom Danz Xpressionz.  Since then she has been to several other studios after the closing in 2009.

She has had opportunities such as dancing with Fela Production with Motor City Dance Factory. She has competed in several local competitions and traveled with Marygrove Dance Company to participate in ACDA. Her passion is to teach and give back the knowledge she has learned over the years.

Alexandria Jean-Louis has been teaching Dance since 2011. She began teaching only Hip-Hop at The Zone Dance Center. Every Year since 2011 Alex has added another Genre, level, or studio to her resume. Alex began her dance training at the age of 7 at Artistry in Motion Dance School under the Nationally Acclaimed and Reknowned Gwendolyn Smith and Alicia Smith. Alex studied Ballet, Cecchetti, Pointe, Tap, Jazz, Hip-Hop and Lyrical. Alex also Studied at The Zone Dance center becoming a member of the resurrected and acclaimed Red Zone Competitive group. Alex attended Eastern Michigan University where she studied Ballet and Modern dance as well as served as president of The Oldest Dance organization, Diversion Dance Troupe, for 3 years. Alex has since matriculated receiving her BA in Individual Studies From Eastern Michigan University. Alexandria is currently enrolled to receive her MA  in Urban Studies and Planning  at Wayne state University.

Dancing at a neighborhood recreational center as an afterschool activity, Tiaria fell in love with dance at the tender age of six. Later, She joined the West Side Cubs, a competitive cheerleading team where she learned cheer and tumbling skills. Moving forward in life she became a Dance major at  Detroit School of Arts high school and was the captain of the marching bands Flag team by her senior year in 2012. Going on to higher learning, Tiaria graduated from Marygrove College with a bachelors of Fine Arts degree in Dance Performance in May of 2016. Throughout her time at Marygrove she trained rigorously in Modern, Ballet, and Jazz technique while also performing as a member of company 1. The summer after graduation Tiaria lived in New York, NY training at The Ailey School as she was accepted into The Alvin Ailey summer intensive. Currently, pushing to complete her masters program in Education from Central Michigan University. Still and all, fulfilling her passion as an Tumbling, Gymnastics, and Dance instructor, while utilizing she gift to empower, motivate, and inspire while.

Ra Shawna Moore began dancing at the age of three years old at Freedom Danz xpressionz. From 2013-2014 she was a member of Oakland University Vitality Dance Team. She is now a junior at Wayne State University Majoring in dance. During her first year at Wayne State she was apart of the African Dance Company To Sanagana under the direction of Karen Prall. Ra Shawna is also a part of the DTE Detroit Tigers Energy Squad and Comerica Park.

Ms. Yoronda (Ms. YoYo) began her dance life at the tender age of 5 at Jan's Dance School.  After surpassing her entire class her mother felt she needed a more advanced studio.  The next season she was enrolled into Wendy's School of Dance in Detroit where she studied Ballet, Tap, Modern, Jazz, Clogging, Baton, & Pom-Pom. 
After being with Wendy for almost 10 years the studio was closing and Yoronda was forced to find a new dance home. 

In 1999 Yoronda learned about Freedom: Danz Xpressionz (FDX) where she met Ms. Keichea, and the entire FDX family, and instantly fell in love with the unique hip-hop flavored dance studio.  Yoronda began teaching her first dance class in high school at Freedom, and was also a X generation, and later a Company member.  

Leaving Freedom was extremely hard for Yoronda however, she enrolled into Alabama State University where she continued dancing on the Universities dance team.Yoronda has participated in over 20 dance recitals, numerous competitions around the world, and has earned countless awards, including best solo.
Yoronda received her Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from Eastern Michigan University.
Currently, Yoronda is employed as a investigator for the state of Michigan, wife, and mother of two beautiful boys BUT dance is and will always be her first love.

Yoronda loves teaching and is always excited to meet her new dance babies!!

I am 21 years old studying early childhood development and education. I have been dancing since I was 3 years old and Freedom Danz Xpressions is my dance home. My favorite styles of dance are hip-hop and jazz.

Tracie
Taylor

Tracie Taylor has been dancing since the age of 7 where she started as a cheerleader and transitioned over to a dancer. Her dance training started at Fem Fatale Dance Studio and includes Classical Ballet, Modern/Contemporary, Tap, Jazz, Hip-Hop, and African dance. She attended Detroit School of Arts as a dance major and after graduation she went to William Penn University in Oskaloosa, Iowa to join the dance team. While she was there, she taught at Yarkosy & Co. Dance Productions as the Junior Dance Teacher. She’s currently a sophomore at University of Michigan – Dearborn studying Computer Science and is working on starting a dance team at her school. She stopped dancing for a couple years but that didn’t stop her from attending the Detroit Pistons Dance Camps and being a part of the Foluke – Jeffrey & The Artists Dance Company for a couple months. After she graduates from college, Tracie plans on moving to Los Angeles to join Debbie Allen Dance Company and to become a certified dance teacher. “Never Stop Dancing” is her motivation to pursue her dreams.
